“Bonney Stones”

Distance Challenge
The distance challenge of the Bonney Stones is to carry the stones for max distance - farmer's walk style - along a 10m
course.
General Rules:
• Handles are set on start line and athletes feet are on or behind to start.
• One false/failed start is allowed if stones havent been moved more than 30cm within 10 seconds of drop.
• Athletes must carry the stones as far as possible along the 10 meter course.
• Athletes are allowed a single drop along with a 10 second break, after which they must continue to carry the stones.
Once the athlete drops the stones a second time, their attempt is over and the distance is measured.
• If an athlete manages to reach the end of the 10m course, they must turn around and continue the walk back down the course.
• There are no safe zones to drop and reset.
• The athletes foot (atleast one) must touch the line to count as 10m course complete.
• After the athlete's second (and final) drop, the distance is measured from the starting line to the front of the farthest stone handle to the 2nd decimal of meters (eg.
5.36m)
• Soft leg coverings are acceptable such as knee sleeves, socks, leggings. Neoprene recommended. Stones will likely cause damage.
• Safety toe boots/shoes recommended
Time Challenge
The time challenge of the Bonney Stones is to break ground with both stones for as long as possible.
General Rules:
• Stones and handles are set by the athlete to how they would like to lift.
• Stones can be lifted in straddling or side-by-side
• On lift command athlete has 60 seconds to break stones • Time will start once both stones leave the ground, from the ground.

• Time will stop when any stone touches the ground.
• Officials to be on the ground to time the lift.
Time is recorded in mm:ss:ms (eg. 01:24.65, 01 minute 24 seconds 65 milliseconds)
• Soft leg coverings are acceptable such as knee sleeves, socks, leggings. Neoprene recommended. Stones will likely cause damage.
• Safety toe boots/shoes recommended
BareHand Rules:
• Liquid or solid chalk only.
No tacky, glue, spray adhesives of any kind. Hands must be shown to officials prior to lift.
• In competition any time/distance completed barehanded will beat any assisted time/distance.
• All official records to be completed barehanded.
Assisted Rule's:
• Use of grip aids such as fig 8, 9s and palm grips are acceptable.
• Strictly no grip hooks or grips of metal construction/ fraimed
• Thumb must be around the handle and fist closed, no lift is given if handles sat in fingertips.
• Liquid or solid chalk only.
• No tachi, glue, spray adhesives of any kind. Hands must be shown to officials prior to lift.
• In competition any time/distance completed barehanded will beat any assisted time/distance.
• A lift achievement will be recorded but no record set/ held by and assisted lift.

Strongman is open to everyone, from the grassroots to pro level.
This year’s WASM is geared to allow everyone to take part while creating an EPIC competition to crown The Strongest in the State!
No qualifying or memberships needed.
Just register, train and battle for the chance to be titled the Strongest Man or Woman in WA!
NEWCOMER
If you’ve never competed in Strongman but want to have a taste of competing at an epic venue for the whole of Perth and the country to see.
INTERMEDIATE
You’ve been training hard in the gym and want to showcase your strength while also fighting for the chance to be titled The Strongest in the State.
ADVANCED
You’ve competed with us before and you want to write your name in the history books of Strongman and have your hand at setting some records.
