Kilos of Kindness: The 1 Million KG Lift-Off

One day. One million kilos. Two incredible causes.

WA Strongman proudly presents Kilos of Kindness, a one-day community lift-off where strength meets compassion.

On Saturday, August 1, athletes, families, local businesses, and supporters will come together at Frank’s Gym Perth to attempt one huge goal: lifting a combined 1,000,000kg in support of It’s From Elsie and Variety WA.

That means every lift, donation, raffle prize, cheer, and act of kindness helps create double the impact — and twice the fun.

Whether you want to lift, donate, bring your family, enter a business team, contribute a raffle prize, or partner with the event in your own way, there’s a place for you in the day.

Why We Lift

Kilos of Kindness exists to turn strength into support.

This year, we’re proud to raise funds for It’s From Elsie and Variety WA — two incredible causes supporting children, families, and communities who deserve a little extra kindness.

It’s From Elsie helps provide picture books to families with newborns in NICU, giving parents a gentle way to read, connect, and be present with their babies during an incredibly difficult time.

By also supporting Variety WA, we’re helping extend the impact even further, raising money for more children and families who need support, care, and community behind them.

This event is about more than lifting weights. It’s about showing what can happen when people come together, give what they can, and use their strength for something bigger than themselves.

Every kilo lifted helps build the total.
Every donation helps build the impact.
Every person involved helps make the day matter.

How It Works

Lifters will record their successful lifts throughout the day while we keep a live running total toward the 1,000,000kg goal.

Lifts counted:
Squat, bench press, deadlift, overhead press using log or axle, and stone load.

How it runs:
Lifters complete their chosen movements, record their successful lifts, and every kilo gets added to the community total.

Milestones:
We’ll celebrate along the way at 250,000kg, 500,000kg, 750,000kg, and finally, the big one — 1,000,000kg.

Prizes:
Prizes will be awarded for top lifters, biggest PBs, best spirit, and standout community contributions.

Local business involvement:
Businesses are encouraged to get involved by bringing a team, sponsoring part of the day, donating raffle prizes, offering event-day discounts, or partnering with us to help make the event even bigger.

Everyone can be part of it:
Lift, donate, cheer, volunteer, bring the kids, invite your workplace, or simply come down and support the crew.

Together, we’ll lift one million kilos for kindness.

Meet the Fundraisers.

  • A passionate mental health nurse and published children’s book author, Calum brings storytelling and strength together for a cause close to his heart. Inspired by his daughter and driven by the belief that small gestures can make a big difference, he created this event to help NICU families feel seen, supported, and connected through the magic of picture books.

  • Meet Anthony and Jane the owners behind Frank’s Gym Perth, and two people who have poured their hearts into creating a true playground for people who love to lift. Frank’s Gym was built to be safe, welcoming, unintimidating, and full of community spirit. a place where people can challenge themselves, try new things, and feel like they belong.

Both Anthony and Jane are passionate about fundraising, community causes, and finding ways to give back. They believe strength is about more than numbers on a bar. It’s about connection, confidence, and using what you have to help others.

During the 1 Million KG Lift-Off, you’ll catch them doing a bit of everything lifting, cheering, organising, supporting the lifters, and helping make the day an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.

You may also see Anthony trying to bite off an absolutely ridiculous chunk of the total himself…

Rumour has it, he’s chasing 200,000kg lifted solo.

Jane, meanwhile, will probably be making sure everything actually runs properly.

Kids can join a special Children's Lifting Hour at 12pm with simple, fun lifts designed for younger supporters.
