Event Details and Weights

Athletes will clean and press an axle bar with rising weights.
The bar will start on the ground for standing athletes.
The bar will start on blocks for seated athletes.
All athletes will lift together - men and women.
Seated athletes will have their own station for ease.
Athletes can choose which weight to start on.
Starting weight is 12kg. Weight will be added in 5kg increments.
Once you have started lifting, all weights must be attempted until you reach your max.
The elbows must be locked out (to the athletes best ability) and for standing athletes your feet must be even for a lift to count. You must wait for the ‘down’ call from the referee.
Lifting accessories such as elbow & knee sleeves, wrist wraps and belts are acceptable.
For athletes with upper limb differences, accommodations can be made. Please discuss this with organisers upon registration.
Chalk allowed.
30 second time limit per attempt.
You will receive a second chance if you miss a lift. This must be completed in your 30 second time limit.
A “No Lift” will see you exit the event.
Event handlers will be ready to assist if required. If you wish to have your Support Worker with you please arrange this before the showcase begins.

Athletes will perform a single deadlift until they max out.
Seated athletes will use an open trap bar.
Standing athletes will lift in a conventional or sumo style with a straight bar.
All athletes will lift together - men and women.
Seated athletes will have their own station for ease..
Athletes can choose which weight to start on.
Starting seated weight is 42kg. Weight will be added in 5kg increments.
Starting standing weight is 50kg. Weight will be added in 5kg increments to 130kg, and will then go up by 10kg.
Once you have started lifting, all weights must be attempted until you reach your max.
For a deadlift to be deemed a successful lift, the ref will be looking for knees and hips locked out and shoulders locked back behind the chest (to the athletes best ability).
Lifting accessories such as lifting straps, lifting hooks for athletes with an upper limb difference, gloves and lifting belts are acceptable.

This event has a slight variation for Standing and Seated athletes.
Standing athletes:
will bear hug and carry a slamball/sandbag 10m, ensuring to cross the line, toss over their shoulder, pick it back up, return to home and carry a second, heavier slamball/sandbag and repeat.
Seated athletes:
will lift a slamball/sandbag up from a platform in front of them, bear hug the implement for 5 seconds before tossing over their shoulder. This will be done twice before moving onto a heavier ball/bag. The 5 second countdown will not start until the ball/bag is controlled in the athletes arms.
Slamball weight options are 12/15/20/25/30kg.
Sandbag weight options are 40/50/75kg.
Weights to be given to organisers before the showcase starting. Organisers have the right to question your weights - remember, this is a competition of strength!
No grip shirts, gloves or chalk allowed.
Lifting belts and elbow & knee sleeves are allowed.

This is a timed event. If you drop the ball/bag you are permitted to attempt to finish your run as many times as required.
Time is stopped when you cross the home line with the 2nd ball/bag.
Event handlers will be ready to assist if required. If you wish to have your Support Worker with you please arrange this before the showcase begins.

This event will be performed seated.
Athletes will pull a sled 10m via a rope.
Sled weight to be given to organisers before the showcase starting. Organisers have the right to question your weights - remember, this is a competition of strength!
Gloves and elbow sleeves can be used.
This is a timed event. If you need to stop at any point this is permitted.
Time is stopped when the sled crosses the line.
A handler will assist you with excess rope whilst you are pulling.
Event handlers will be ready to assist if required. If you wish to have your Support Worker with you please arrange this before the showcase begins.
